High 5s Netball Umpiring Course
Monday 5th November 2007

Venue: Comberton Village College

Course Aims: This course is aimed at teachers, parents and volunteers in Primary Schools to help increase knowledge of High 5’s rules and confidence to umpire a High 5 match.

The course is very practical so please wear appropriate clothing and bring a whistle and pencil. Places are limited.

Key Stage 1 & 2 Swimming -Teachers Training Course
Monday 12th November 2007

Venue: Melbourn Village College
Provider: South Cambs SSP
Course Aims: This course aims to equip a qualified school teacher to teach a range of basic aquatic skills to learners at the non swimmer/ beginner and improver stage. The course will involve both practical and theory sessions and will cover swimming strokes, use of practices and games, key underpinning skills and use of the Tops swim cards.

Step into Sport - Disability Awareness Course

Course Aims: For sports leaders in Key Stage 4. This course will train leaders up to work with children in our special schools/units and help support with lunchtime clubs and festivals of sport.

Teaching Dance at KS2

Course Aims: This practical course focuses on the effective teaching of dance at KS2. Participants will experience the process of developing dance material and using relevant compositional principles to create a final dance. The course wil include a range of evaluation tasks that focus on performance and compositional features.

NB. Course participants need to wear suitable clothing and footwear for practical activity.

Developing the Teaching of Games at KS1

A range of practical games activities will be used and adapted to progressively develop tactical knoweldge.
