      <title>Kids of Steel Triathlon</title> 
      <description><![CDATA[Kids of Steel will be back in Cambridge for 2012 with the date now confirmed as Thursday 26<sup>th</sup> April. The event will take place at Impington Sports Centre and is a fantastic opportunity for pupils in Year 5-8 to take part in a vibrant and exciting sport that will play a big part in the 2012 Olympics. <br />
<br />
The event is open to all children and is fully inclusive with all equipment, including bikes, provided. The event will run from 10am until 3pm and schools will book in for their preferred start time with the whole event taking each school approximately 2hours. <br />

      <title>COUNTY SCHOOL GAMES</title> 
      <description><![CDATA[<span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt">The sports for the event in 2012 have now been confirmed as:<br />

      <title>South Cambs SSP Year 5/6 Quad Kids Athletics </title> 
      <description><![CDATA[

<p><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma">QuadKids is a new, exciting and easy to organise athletics concept designed to give more children the opportunity to participate in and enjoy athletics. It covers the core disciplines of running, throwing and jumping in a team quadrathlon format. <br />
		</span></p><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma"><br />
	This is a team based competition where individual performances are scored using a points table and the winners are the team with the highest cumulative points score.&nbsp;<br />
	<br />
	Teams are made up of 4 boys and 4 girls, with each athlete competing in all events.<br />
	<br />
	All&nbsp;athletes&nbsp;take part in&nbsp;a 75m sprint, vortex howler throw, standing long jump and 600m run.<br />
	<br />
	<strong>The two winning schools from this competition will go forward to represent South Cambs SSP at the County School Games on Tues 10th July 2012. <br />
		</strong><br />

      <title>South Cambs SSP Year 3 & 4 Mini Red Tennis Competition</title> 
      <description><![CDATA[This competition is being run in conjunction with&nbsp;Comberton Tennis Club and hosted at their courts. <strong>The event is open to all schools in South Cambs SSP with the winning school going on to represent the Partnership at the County School Games on Tuesday 10th July 2012.<br />
	<br />
	</strong>Teams are mixed -2 boys and 2 girls. Schools can enter a maximum of 4 teams.&nbsp;<br />
<br />


<p>The LTA is currently offering the following incentives to schools that enter this event:</p>

<ul type="disc">
	
<li>30 sponge and 30 red low compression tennis balls </li>
	
<li>A racquet and ball set for four players from each school (available for the first 10,000 children who are not British Tennis Members)</li>
</ul>

<p>As a Partnership we are also offering all schools that enter a free team training/coaching session with a professional tennis coach from a local club. So what are you waiting for, enter your team today!!</p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br />
<strong>Simple rules:<br />

<p>· Mini Tennis Red uses badminton sized courts, 23” Mini Tennis rackets, Mini Tennis sponge balls if played indoors, or Mini Tennis red felt balls if played outdoors.</p>

<p>· The format is Timed Tennis; players play for a set period of time, until the whistle blows. The length of matches depends on time available and amount of entries, but matches normally last ten minutes.</p>

<p>· The serve is decided by a ‘toss' at the start of the match. The nominated person serves for the first point, it then alternates every two points.</p>

<p>· When serving, players should stand behind the baseline and the ball must not be bounced before being hit.</p>

<p>· The serve can be hit over or underarm and should be hit diagonally, landing in the diagonally opposite service box.</p>

<p>· Each court will have a helper/scorer, who calls out the scores and helps out with decisions<br />
