Power of an Active School
3 January, 2018 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm| £50
The Power of an Active School is a 2 hour CPD session that will support schools to increase physical activity throughout the school day to boost health and academic achievement for their students.
The workshop addresses the Childhood Obesity Plan and the ambition that all schools will provide 30 minutes a day of physical activity for all young people. It examines how significant time and resource devoted to physical activity across the school can result in greater achievement for your pupils. It will also help to develop young people who are healthy lifelong learners and positive contributors to society.
This workshop looks at how schools can:
• meet the requirements of the government’s new childhood obesity plan
• develop their understanding of the evidence and research underpinning active approaches in schools
• boost wellbeing, behaviour and attendance by building physical activity into the whole school day
• introduce physical activity into the school classroom to raise concentration and application levels
