Item: Mini Bus Brokerage Service

Posted by: Claire McDonnell
Dated: Tue 19th January 2010 2.43PM

Cambridgeshire County Council Transport Services operates a mini bus brokerage scheme which all our schools and the SSP can access.

The scheme runs as follows:

  • It operates using the Dial a Ride buses (15-16 seater buses although have some 7-8 seater buses)
  • Each school has to register their details (free registration).
  • Mini buses are supplied with a driver who is CRB checked.
  • The buses are generally busy between 8.00-10.00am and 2.30-4.00pm but have good availability between 10.30am-2.30pm and after school times (however it is still worth checking with Gavin Moulton-the contact at Cambridgeshire County Council).

Register with community.transport@cambridgeshire.gov.uk or call 0345 045 1151 (free to register) contact name, address, contact number etc

To book-email them with details of your transport requirements-when/date/times (for pick up and departure)/destination/return/pick up point/passenger numbers/contact person etc.

Costs are £1.50 per mile with a usual minimum call up charge of £40 (although can be less) per booking (so you could book more than one pick up and drop off as part of the booking).
